Nature Inspired Fashion

Happy Sunday!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!! With the hot summer weather this weekend in Vegas, my family and I decided to retreat to Mount Charleston for the day on Saturday for some hiking and fun in the sun- with sunscreen of course!! We weren’t sure how hiking was going to work with an almost 2-year-old, but it was definitely an adventure and we all had a blast!

So starting with the basics… we made sure to have sturdy, comfortable shoes- no heels for me!! Our Asics were super comfortable and gave plenty of support for the uneven terrain.  We all had on sunscreen- ranging in SPF from 50 to 85.  The important thing is to make sure that it as least a 30 and we made sure not only get the obvious face and arms, but also the ears, neck and part in the hair- yes, your scalp can get burned too.  And as my wonderful husband and son demonstrate, don’t forget about hydration!!

Even though we got some cardio in there, especially my husband, who had to carry our son for about half the hike, it definitely was not all work and no play!  We had lots of fun and love and kisses!!  I even got a few minutes to work on my yoga poses a little bit.  This sleeveless hoodie from Forever 21 was the perfect topper and I was so excited to wear it!!

As I’ve been taking more pictures for this blog and for Instagram, I have gotten more into photography in general.  I was happy with how some of these nature pics came out and was excited to create this lip art based on the bumblebee that I was able to capture on film! For this, I used a MAC yellow lipliner, OCC cosmetics yellow lip tar, House of Beauty’s lip hybrid in black and NYX cosmetics black glitter eyeliner.

What inspires you in your fashion and makeup?  I’d love to hear about it and don’t forget to follow me on Instagram @lovinlivinfashion for daily updates!
