Happy Sunday! I hope everybody had a great weekend! Not to rub it in if you live in a cold part of world, but the weather in Vegas was BEAUTIFUL this weekend!! Lots of sunshine and highs in the low 80s, so perfect for outside adventures! With that in mind, I slapped on my sunscreen and decided to check out what was going on in the new container park in downtown Las Vegas!
For those of you who aren’t familiar with or haven’t been to container park, it is located on Fremont St, just a few blocks away from the Fremont Street experience. It is comprised of literally all repurposed shipping containers for the different boutiques. It has an amazing central open area with a huge playground and park areas for kiddos of all ages to play and lots of yummy restaurants as well.
The shops cover an array of options, from house decor and a blowout bar to clothing and accessories boutiques to a toy store. Having a toddler in tow, I have to admit that we didn’t really venture into many of the decor stores because they tended to have more breakable wares and we just didn’t want to risk it. I’m clumsy enough as it is! But we did find a few cool places for fun and unique finds!
First was 702 dtlv, which had jewelry and some clothing from local artists. I fell in love with this floppy hat, which I think would go perfectly with the fringe and the wider leg jeans that echo a 70s vibe, which are huge trends right now.
The second place I went absolutely crazy for was Leather Couture by Jessica Galindo. She handmakes all her pieces and carries so many things, from purses, to scarves, rings, cuffs and earrings. I could’ve spent all afternoon in there!! I loved not only the bohemian vibe from a lot of the pieces but there was also a quiet beauty and femininity that was amazing, especially juxtaposed with such contrasting elements as a spike on a chain on the closure of the lavender purse below or the almost dagger shape of several earrings.
Also, gotta love the lace like look of these earrings- in fact- I had been here before and am wearing my white pair in the pics! And with the pieces being so affordable, they are perfect for anytime gifts for yourself, or anyone for that matter!! ;D
