Spring Forward

Happy Sunday,

As if the weekend doesn’t seem to go fast enough as it is, but with springing an hour forward, Sunday has seemed to fly by even more quickly.  I had such a great weekend with my family and was sad to have to see my mom leave back to Texas.

On Friday, we had a girls day at the Wynn.  The day was full of relaxation at the spa with a massage, manicure and pedicure and plenty of bubbly that spilled into the night! 😉 As I’ve mentioned before, I’m noticing more and more how I am a child of the 70s and have really been drawn to the boho details of that era.  However, I am also finding that I have to be careful with putting the details and accessories together because although I am inspired by that era, I don’t want to look like I am wearing a costume.  And I think that is important to remember, no matter what your style influences are.

Case in point, the boho accessory for my outfit was this floral crown from H&M.  However, to keep it from looking both too costumey or too youthful, I kept the rest of my accessories modern, like this leather cuff from Leather Couture bright pink lip in True Love from Lime Crime.

Saturday, my husband and I were lucky enough to have my mom babysit for us so we could have some adult time together.  THANK YOU MINI!!! Don’t get me wrong, I love our family time together, but it’s not only nice, but important to spend some adult time with your spouse.  Keeping in my boho inspiration, I wore this Free People jumpsuit and Emilio Pucci dragon sculpted wedges.

The plunging V neck and back keep this outfit modern, as does mixing patterns, like with this custom pink leopard wristlet from Leather Couture.  And who can forget my favorite accessory, who was smokin in his Zegna jacket!! 😉  By the way, if you are in Vegas and haven’t been to Carbone at Aria, I would definitely recommend it!!!

Some Sundays, I just want to take a step back, relax and enjoy the day- even if it is an hour shorter than usual!! Today was no exception.  I’ve never actually been to the Momofuku Milk bar, but it is definitely on my to do list.  For now, I’ve found some of her recipes on line and have been having a lot of fun attempting to do recreations of them.  Today, I made an apple pie cake.  Yum!!

I know that my presentation is lacking, but it was fun to make and tasted great- at least to me!! 😉  This T-shirt I got from Tracey Anderson workout studio, couldn’t sum up my feelings of spending time with my amazing family any better!!!

What did you do this weekend and how did you incorporate your fashion influences into it?  I’d love to hear about it!!
