Gilcrease orchard

Happy Sunday everyone!!!

Well another week has come and gone and new we are less than a week away from Halloween!! To help get us in the mood (as if we needed help with that) and get us ready for autumn, we decided to take a trip to the Gilcrease Orchard!

I know it sounds crazy to think that there is a huge orchard in the middle of the desert with an amazing pumpkin patch, but it’s true!!! Believe it or not, it began almost 100 years ago with the Gilcrease family and over time has come to support the community and provide it with much needed locally grown produce and home cooked treats to boot!!  Throughout the year, people are welcome to come and pick what is available and in season and the cost is by the pound and varies depending on the type of produce.  This time of year, a huge pumpkin patch that is fun for any age is available to go to.  Although we didn’t partake in it, they also do have wagon rides available that showcase the property.

As you can see, we got off to a bit of a slow start, but as the day went on, we found some awesome pumpkins and had a lot of fun!!

We just beat the rain and the cloudy weather was perfect because it kept the temperature nice and cool.  Plus, the overcast and looming rain gave me the perfect excuse to whip out my favorite and classic yellow wellies!!!  Our son also got to use his birthday Texas boots, which worked out perfectly!!

I know this post didn’t have too many outfit pics, but here’s some make up pics from earlier this week- and I promise to have more fashion outfit/shoe/beauty pics in the future.  However, that being said, this upcoming post will definitely be Halloween themed, so more fun than everyday fashion! 😉  What would you like to see me post about?  I’d love to hear about it!!
