Lip art blog

Happy Sunday Everyone!!!

I’m sorry about not posting last week, but with my mom being in town this past week for her birthday, time just got away from me.  Although I am by no means a make up artist, or really any kind of artist, I do enjoy trying to be creative and having fun with my makeup! One of the things I love about it is that if you mess up, nothing is permanent- it can be washed off.  So here’s a week of what I tried- I’d love to know what you think of them, if you have any pointers and if you would share with me about your creations of your own.

I’ve found some amazing make up companies on Instagram- both the purple and pink matte lips, as well as the yellow lipstick used near the sunflower were from LimeCrime.  I’ve really been falling more and more in love with them.  Some of the best things about the matte lips are the staying power and with that, the increased willingness of my husband to kiss me with lipstick on! I’m a big Cubs fan, so I had to do a baseball inspired lip- for the red thread, I used Lime Crime red sparkly gloss and for the white I used OCC lip tar in white and the LimeCrime eyeliner in white.

Finally, for the full face, I was so inspired by the street art that I saw locally, that I had to try to reproduce it.  I used so many products that I lost count, but I used a Loreal liquid foundation that is very fair and mixed OCC blue lip tar with it.  I used WhoIsSheCosmetics lip hybrid for the green around my eyes and nose, as well as the gold.  I used House of Beauty lip hybrid for my lips.  I used LimeCrice black eyeliner on my lips and Shroom velveteen around my eyes.  I used Morphe Brushes for the green contouring on my cheeks and the brushes to paint with.  I also used the Red Velvet LimeCrime for my forehead and again the black eyeliner.

I look forward to continue playing and around and practicing on my lip art.  I’d love to hear what you think and if you have any suggestions on anything else you would like to see me try.
