Birthday Fashion

Happy Sunday!!!

Sorry for the belated post!!! Between the traveling and hiccups that come with planning and flying with a now 2 year old, this post is waaaay behind, so thank you for your patience!!! The weekend of August 15th came and went so fast that it seems like a blur!!! We had such a blast as always whenever we are with our family and even more so this time because it was to celebrate our son’s birthday!! The theme this year was a Western theme and we had such a good time taking it to the max!!!  Go big or go home, right?!

First off, I want to say that now that I am 36, I am definitely noticing more the rule of just because they make something in your size, doesn’t mean that you should wear it.  As a result, stores that I shopped at much more often in my 20s and teen years are harder to shop in because the last thing I want to look like, is that I am trying to look like a 20 year old.  All that does is make one look even older and even worse, like one is trying way to hard.  However, I am very happy to report that this Western inspired denim dress from Bebe did anything but that!!  Also, the cute matching boots that Daddy and the birthday boy were sporting were from Roper and they fit perfectly!! My Texas A&M boots were from Neiman Marcus and I love love love them!!!

The Cake Shoppe in San Antonio, at the Colonnade did a fantastic job with the cake- I had a requested a boot shaped cake in the semblance of the boots at North Star Mall in San Antonio, Texas.  For those of you who aren’t familiar with that image, this is what it looks like!

And here’s the cake!!! We were very happy with the reproduction!!!

As you can tell by the red velvet cake around his mouth, the birthday boy loved it!!!

Our family had a blast and of course it was great getting to see everyone and getting to spend time with them!!  IMG_5087    IMG_5078

But all good things come to an end and we finally all went to sleep with happy dreams and tummies full of cake!!
